Maria Elena Rodriguez, born in Detroit, Michigan. Ms. Rodriguez – driven by pride with her Motown Mexican roots: her “Vast knowledge of Mexican culture, language and traditions, evidencing her strong commitment in community building and pride for Detroit”. As President of: “Mexican town Community Development Corporation”. She was intricate in the building the “Mexican Town International Welcome Center and Mercado”. Ms. Rodriguez is a board member, of the new Cristo Rey High School in Southwest Detroit. Ms. Rodriguez was Associate Advisor to “Mexicans Abroad”. board member of “Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau” and “Commissioner on the: State of Michigan Spanish Speaking Affairs Commission”.
